11 May 2004 - Remembering Douglas Adams
As fans will know, today is the third anniversary of Douglas Adams' untimely death. This morning at about 9.40 am British Summer Time, Cast and Crew gathered on the set of the Heart of Gold for a minute’s silence in honour of Douglas. Everybody who was up at Elstree this morning then took up their positions for a Cast and Crew Photograph – hitchhiking thumbs akimbo – to celebrate the making of the movie.

From the team who have screwed 4,000 light bulbs by hand into the Heart of Gold to the set builders, cast and visiting executives from LA, everybody is proud to be working on "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" movie. Today especially, as we gathered on the sound stage for the first day’s filming of the Heart of Gold, it felt as if we were really underway after a particularly muddy week last week in the English countryside..... But that’s for another entry another day!
